Chocolate granola



Free from - Egg, Fish, Milk, Gluten, Nuts, Sesame & Soya

My friend Jess has been nagging me for ages to get this recipe online. This one is for her! (Yes, Jess, I know you are reading this)

Ingredients


  • 220g Oats (the porridge variety, not rolled)
  • 25g Rice Krispies/Rice Pops (if you re gluten free you will need to get puffed rice)
  • 90g Dairy-free Chocolate Chips (or normal chocolate chips, if you don't have to worry about milk)
  • 60g Brown Sugar
  • 120g Margarine (ensure it is free of allergens)
  • 50g Golden Syrup
  • 30g Treacle/Molasses
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla Essence

Utensils

  • Large Bowl
  • 20x20cm Baking Tin, greased and lined with parchment paper

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 180°C
  2. Add all the ingredients and mix until fully combined. It will look fairly dry but do not worry!
  3. Put the mixture into the tin
  4. Bake for 30-40 minutes, taking it out every 10-15 minutes to give it a good mix so it bakes evenly. Remove from the oven when it is cooked through an crispy
  5. Leave it to cool and then place in an airtight container to keep it fresh. When you are ready, serve with whatever your milk preference is
