Chewy chocolate chip Cereal Bars



Free from - Egg, Milk, Gluten, Nuts, Soya

Makes 12 bars





These cereals bars are always a huge hit, grab them on the go or devour them all in one sitting! They are insanely easy to make and a great recipe to do with kids


Ingredients


  • 225g Gluten-free Porridge Oats
  • 25g Puffed Rice
  • 90g Dairy-free Chocolate Chips
  • 65g Brown Sugar
  • 120g Margarine (ensure it is free of allergens)
  • 50g Golden Syrup
  • 35g Treacle/Molasses
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla Essence

Utensils

  • Large Bowl
  • 20x20cm Baking Tin, greased and lined with parchment paper

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 180°C
  2. Add all the ingredients and mix until fully combined. It will look fairly dry but do not worry!
  3. Put the mixture into the tin and press it down very firmly
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes
  5. Leave it to cool for 10 minutes and then score it into bars but allow it to cool completely before you actually cut it fully
  6. It can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days, but mine have never lasted that long before being eaten!​
